RARE Spyderco Paramilitary 2 C81CFPE2 Carbon Fiber & CPM154/S90V Composite Blade
Jun 18, 2017
VERY Limited Edition of an Amazing Knife
Only 300 of these were made, and it was the first time that this steel was used to make a knife blade. Sure, you can buy a MASS PRODUCED Paramilitary 2 S110V for a fraction of the price - I have one also. But for serious Spyderco Paramilitary 2 collectors, this is a 'grail knife.' Clearly the other reviewer is NOT a collector...

BMW M PERFORMANCE KEY CASE 82292355519 G11 G12 F48 F15 F85 F16 F86
Jan 17, 2018
Saved My Key Despite Being Run Through 2 Washes!
Long story short, I accidentally left my X5M key (in the BMW M Performance Key Case) in the pocket of a pair of pants I accidentally ran through the wash TWICE — back to back. Although the case was ruined, it somehow managed to prevent the key itself from getting terribly wet. Not wanting to push any buttons until after the key had a chance to fully dry, I decided to check whether it was still emitting a RF Signal by attempting keyless entry. I was beyond stoked when everything still worked. I don’t know how, but the case saved my key after 2 washes. Not only does it look great, it is extremely well made and functional. It’s a little pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion.

2016 Ronix Hex Shell The Blender 4'7" Wake Surf Board
Oct 02, 2016
RONIX: Fantastic (But Fragile) Wake Surf Boards!
First off, I'm a big fan of Ronix wake surf boards. I've ridden the 'standard' 2015 Power Tail and own/ride both the 2016 "Honeycomb Surf Skimmer" and the 2016 "Blender." I've ridden boards from all the major companies and, for some reason, find myself riding these 2 boards more than any others i've ever owned. First, the good: The responsiveness of this board is beyond sick. I'm guessing it's a combination of the concave deck, wide tail, and super hard edges, but this board is super fast while still being loose off the top. I'm 6'/185lbs and the board fits perfectly (it only comes in one size and I have had people weighing as little as 140lbs and as much as 230lbs riding it -- seems to bring out the best in any size rider!) Now, the bad: Ronix wake surf boards are expensive. Unfortunately, to make things worse, it seems that the "better" (i.e., more expensive) the board, the more fragile it is. The "Blender" is made from Ronix's "Hex Shell" construction - which they promise to be the gold standard in terms of strength and rigidity. Time will tell and I am hoping for the best. It is encouraging to see that they are offering a 2017 "Blender" that is made of the same "Hex Shell" material. By way of contrast, I am on my THIRD "Honeycomb Surf Skimmer" as the first two were damaged during shipping (despite being completely covered in bubble wrap). Don't get me wrong, the "Honeycomb Surf Skimmer" is one of the most amazing boards I have ever ridden...but it is by far the most fragile. If you look at it wrong, you will ding it. Apparently, Ronix is aware of the issue...and they have responded by discontinuing the "Honeycomb Surf Skimmer" from it's 2017 lineup and replacing it with (the almost identically shaped) "Hex Shell Surf Skimmer 2." My guess is that the Honeycomb Core proved simply to fragile for a board this thin/light, so Ronix kept the basic shape but changed the materials in an effort to preserve longevity. Conclusions: If you have the money (and/or can find a great deal -- check eBay!) I highly recommend both the 2016 "Blender" and the 2016 "Honeycomb Surf Skimmer". The former is more of a "surf" style board, that still enables a lot of skim type tricks. It is fast, plenty buoyant; allows quick/sharp bottom turns and snaps off the top. The latter is the best "hybrid" surf/skim wake surf board I have ever ridden (and it is a favorite amongst my friends). It is slightly slower than the "Blender," but makes up for it with ease of doing 360s and other "skim style" tricks. These two boards are very different, so I feel extremely fortunate to have both, depending on the mood i'm in. Just remember, these boards are BEYOND FRAGILE. I've been surfing for nearly 30 years and have never encountered any board that dings as easily as the "Honeycomb Surf Skimmer." I'm hoping that the "Hex Shell" proves to be substantially stronger than the Honeycomb. At any rate, if you purchase either of these boards, I would DEFINITELY get the most protective day-trip style of board bag you can find. I use the Ronix "Dempsey" surf bag which provides a decent amount of protection (much better than the cotton, sock type board covers).
