All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
I received my first piece of chintz as a wedding gift 44 years ago. As years went on, it was the only wedding gift that endured. It was a Royal Winton Summertime cream and sugar. I didn't appreciate it back then but I did think it was pretty.
Things I sell
I eventually gave it to my daughter to put on her cup and saucer rack as a keepsake. Years later I read an article about chintz and called my daughter telling her,
I think this article is about the kind of china that sugar and creamer is. Well,
my fire was ignited,
and I found eBay,
and I have been buying chintz ever since. It has taken me a while to find out what I really like,
and in the meantime I have bought many beautiful things that really don't make my heart sing. I am now going to sell the things that don't make my heart sing to people whose hearts do sing out when they see it. I have mainly chintz cups and saucers,
tea plates and cake plates. I may sell some other things if I see something I think someone else might like,
which does happen,
but I have found just putting one item on to sell a bit confusing,
so I hope the rest of this is easier. I tried to open a shop,
but after five hours,
my husband and I just quit. Things I buy
Things I collect
As in the paragraph above,
I collect chintz,
mostly in the Royal Winton English Rose pattern,
but I have lots more which I am going to sell. I have a small collection of demitasse cups and saucers,
which I will not sell. I love those little guys and my husband,
who is a cabinetmaker,
is making me a cup and saucer rack the right size for demitasse to fit into. My grandmother had a ceramic rooster collection,
and my mother gave me one of my grandmother's roosters and I have started my own collection. I have gotten them from various places,
two on eBay,
one at Hallmark,
3 sets of salt and pepper shakers,
etc. I remarried 15 years ago,
and my gynecologist,
of all people,
gave me a redwood rolling pin carved out of one piece of cherry wood made at Berea College in Berea,
KY. A doctor I used to work for once gave me a cherry wood bowl made at the Berea College. Kids work in this workshop to help towards fees for their tuition and books. Well,
this rolling pin started me collecting. I ha Languages spoken:

Oh,
this is hard. However,
because I have a crush on Sam Elliott,
and I have his autograph on my refrigerator door which I got when he came into town to see his mother and take her to dinner and I saw him in the restaurant,
I will say that the movie that first comes to my mind is,
The Quick and The Dead. Not the one with Sharon Stone in it,
although that is a good movie too. Sam's movie is much older and is even hard to rent,
but it is worth it. Again,
I loved A Time To Kill ~ it was well done. Last night we watched the original 1947 movie,
The Deacon's Wife,

Summer Celeste Prince
Above you will see a sweet picture of my little granddaughter Summer Celeste Prince who turned 3 on September 18, 2007. I don't get to see her and her brother, Gage, who is 7, and just started first grade because their Mom and Dad moved to Indiana from California a year ago. A plane ticket to Indianapolis is pretty spendy, over $700 for both my husband and I, so our trip to the beach just a couple of weeks ago was the first time I had seen them since Summer's last birthday last year. We hope to be able to go there for Christmas this year. My daughter is precious and priceless to me. My sister used to tell me that Dayna was born with common sense, something I was not, and more than a few times I have needed guidance from Dayna's common sense in my life. She is a true Angel in my life and I know God gave her to me because he knew I would need someone especially special. Dayna doesn't care for my chintz, but Summer is a ruffley girley girl so she will save my chintz for Summer.
Business InformationHistory/background
I was born in Portland, Oregon and except for 3-1/2 years in southern California where my first husband got lost somewhere, at which time I came back home, I have always lived in Portland. My backyard is beautiful, has beautiful breezes blowing through it. If it gets too hot for a few days, it finally rains, and vice versa. My husband and I went to the same high school, although he was two years behind me and I didn't know him, and I tell him I wouldn't have had anything to do with him back then anyway because he rode a motorcycle and smoked cigarettes ~ not my type. I have 1 daughter and 1 son and 7 grandchildren. My mother's family was mainly Swedish, although my great-grandmother at the age of 103 when my great-uncle was taking her to a nursing center because he couldn't take care of her anymore, decided to tell him that she was really Italian and was adopted by a Swedish family. She was kind of dark????
