Why I Enjoy Ebay
Ebay has helped alot of people start there own businesses and better themselves and there families. Mothers can make a living at home and still be there for there children. Older people who need to supplement their income can also sell on eBay. Businesses can sell there back stock on eBay. If you have ever dreamed of owning your own business that is posible with eBay. It upsets me when eBay does a small fee raise and people are outraged. If we had to have a real store to sell our items we would have utilities, taxes, employees to pay, advertising to pay for, etc. Because of eBay we can pretty much run a business out of our homes and they do all the advertising. You are reaching the world. When I began selling on eBay I counted till I had sold to all fifty states. South Dakota was the last. I have lost track of the countries. The majority of the people I have met through eBay have been nice and courteous. I like being my own boss, making a living, and being home when my family needs me.
Business InformationHistory/background
I have a background in retail. Ran a business prior to eBay. I believe in customer service even though you are not dealing with a customer face to face. Communication and courtesy is very important even in e-mails.
Payment policy
I prefer PayPal of course. Its quicker and I can ship quicker. But I understand people who don't like to pay that way or don't trust it. I give shipping discounts on multiple purchases and will ship them together.
Shipping information
I ship twice a week. More if necessary like monday being a holiday or being near a holiday. I don't do as much overseas shipping as I use to due to buyers refusing to pay for Priority Shipping which is the only way to track and Insure overseas packaging. I ship the item first class and they say they did not get the item and Ebay gives them back there money even though I have my postal receipt showing I mailed the item out. This happened three times so I decided no longer will I ship higher priced items overseas. I still do some paper items. It only takes a few bad buyers to make it bad for others.
Return policy
The only items I allow returns on is clothing.
Contact information
Please contact me through Ebay only. This can be done by simply clicking on Ask Seller a Question. You can do this before and after you buy the item from me. A buyer accused me of not communicating with them resently. This was not true. They contacted me through my personal e-mail and not through eBay. I asked them to contact me only through eBay and blocked them from my personal e-mail. They got angry over that. I was not trying to not communicate. I wanted all e-mails between us to be in my eBay mail incase they needed to be forwarded to eBay for any reason. I e-mail all my customers when there item ships and I try to answer all questions in a timely matter. Questions on overseas shipping may take longer since an item may have to be taken to the post office to be weighed.
Where Do You Get All The Items You Sell?
We attend alot of estate auctions in the area. You have to spend money to make money. We buy in bulk so it lowers the price per item. I try very hard not to get to much back stock. So a few days after an auction I try to start processing. Picking out the items I think are worth the most first and so on. We always have a back stock of books, comics and postcards though. But that gives me something to sort through in the winter when there are no auctions or the weather is to bad to go. We also occassionaly find buys in thrift stores and yard sales. But most of our items come from auctions.
Shipping and Handling Charges On My Items
Books are all media mail because that is cheaper. It can take longer to the west coast since I am in Ohio but it saves money since books are heavy. Many other items are sent Priority since all these boxes are free at the post office and some times packing boxes are hard to find. Sometimes Insurance and Delivery Confirmation is included in shipping and that is 65cents to $1.65. I try to recycle stuff to use as packing materials. Friends save me peanuts and foam from there work. But tape, mailing envelopes and some other packing stuff must be bought so that is figured into the shipping and handling charge. Also standing in line at the post office and even driving to the post office is figured into the shipping and handling fee. This is what I do for a living. If you leave work to mail items for your boss you stay on the clock. So if I charge you $8.00 to mail your item and it really costs $5.50 to mail your item the extra goes to cover handling and packing materials.
