I was a member of Romance Writers of America years ago, president and newsletter editor of the local chapter and started collecting romance novels with the intent of someday opening my own bookstore. I'd read John Dunning's detective series featuring book collecting and I was HOOKED. I met romance authors, went to writing conferences, researched pseudonyms, got my books signed when I could--and then boxed everything up when I went back to work and school. In 2004 I discovered Bookcrossing.com and started giving away a lot of the books I'd been saving for so long, and a year later realized that if I wanted to continue sending books around the US, I needed to bring in some extra money to help pay for postage. So in 2005 I opened A Collection of Words (named after a line in a Collective Soul song) and here I am! I know vintage romance very well, and I'm always on the lookout for obscure titles.

Paypal preferred, but I will also take checks and money orders within 7 days of purchase.

I usually ship via Media Mail and I use delivery confirmation on most packages, unless I send first class. I'm anal about my packaging--I sandwich my books between cardboard and slip them into padded envelopes, which I tape to death to protect from tears and gouges in transit. You pay for postage plus a little extra to help defray cost of materials, and I usually get your package mailed out two days after I receive payment.

Your satisfaction is my goal. If you're not happy with your purchase, please do send it back (you pay for return postage) and I will refund your money, less a 10% restocking fee.

I've recently decided to start putting my rubberstamps to work. I suspect (ah, somewhat guiltily) that this is just another not-so-covert excuse to buy more rubberstamps. I have about 300 stamps that I started collecting in 1982 before it was cool. Right now I'm working on some Wiccan and Pagan designs, as well as some funky ones for sassy women. I consider all requests for color combos--and if you want a certain symbol on your tote, I'll try to accomodate you. Just ask!
