Mission Statement
Kwaze-Kwasa [USA] Inc. is a public non-profit charitable foundation focusing on the Sub-Saharan AIDS pandemic. Our mission is to support poor African communities in their daily struggle with poverty and the effects of AIDS/HIV by raising funds for existing grass roots programs. We believe the locals know their problems, needs, and solutions better than us. African artists in these communities and others, in turn, assist us to raise funds for their projects by making art and craft available to us for sale worldwide.
About us:
Kwaze kwasa is isiZulu for 'the new dawn' or 'morning has broken' and signifies the hope many in Africa hold for a solution to the Sub-Saharan AIDS pandemic. Orphaned and vulnerable children are one of the long-term legacies of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Many of them will grow up on the street, form child-headed households, be brought up by elderly grand parents, or be placed in institutional care. We support these children by supporting community-based solutions that strengthen both families and communities in a variety of ways. Such support can be anything from providing food and emotional support to running preschool and after-school supervision programs or training care workers. In all our projects, we work with credible local partner organizations.
