No regrets on this lens. I'm using every chance I get.
As most know, this is an outstanding lens. I bought it to use on my D800 (full frame) camera but have been using it on my D300 for now. The image quality is fantastic! Lots of detail and lots of contrast.
The lens is on the heavy side. Just judging by feel, it reminds me of the weight of the D300 with the Nikon 70-200mmVR1 lens. It's not as long but the weight is in the same range.
No regrets on this lens. I'm using every chance I get.
