Great Panoramic Camera!
1 of 1 found this helpful I have always wanted one of these to be able to shoot 6x17...I am a huge fan of Provia 100 & film, and most of the work I shoot these days is panoramic. The G617 is an incredibly easy camera to use, & produces some real sharp images! The only drawback is there is no interchangeable lenses, which are found on the new model, the GX617. Overall, however, I find the G617 to be a great buy in terms of a cost/value ratio, and find the GX on the current market to just not be worth the cost, especially when one lens costs just as much as the entire G617 outfit. This camera cuts down on my post-production time significantly as I do not need to do any stitching whatsoever. The camera is durable, long lasting, and well built. I will say that it took me a little while to get used to focusing without being able to see the focus in the viewfinder, but I find that 95% of the shots I take are all set to infinity anyways, and have hitherto come out beautifully! I am very happy with this purchase.
