It was not until the 2nd time I watched it, that I noticed a very important feature. "Self Worth"
It was interesting how the mothers explained to their daughters, that they had forgotten about their own Self-worth. Giving them examples of how they were only thinking about making their husbands happy. What about themselves?? !! One was separated and still planning to make hubby his favorite pie for a meeting of separating their properties. While another daughter allowed her husband to make her pay for her personal items during their marriage. etc. etc.
So many times, we (women) get lost in our feelings that we need a secure relationship. Forgetting that we are an equal and deserve to be treated as an equal.
Maybe we sometimes forget about our own Self-Worth, because we fear the unknown...
