When my parent went on their honeymoon in 2004, they decided to try their hand at mining instead of blowing their money at the local casino (Dad's idea). They visited an old sapphire mine in the mountains of North Carlina where my mom found a 600 carat blue sapphire. Though it was not a gem quality stone, it is a nice speciman and is still in their collection today from that point they were hooked. My dad bought a facet machine and learned to cut gemstones. Most of these stones you will find in my store (unless mom finds them!)
