I am sole prorietor of Bradford's BeRADical Company in California. we buy & sell musical instruments (primarily strings and woodwinds) and sound support/reinforcement such as amps and PA systems, and related cables etc. We have been playing 40+ yrs.

Everything I buy is eventually likely to be available for sale, with the exception of some treasured items I hold particularily dear for sentimental, spiritual or tonal quality reasons. I also buy electronic items involving global positioning, data tracking such as weather monitoring equipment, diesel and alternative fuel vehicles, items that are of minimal impact to the environment, audio and video music, especially jazz, latin jazz, Celtic and world music. Also computer-associated items- softwaer, hardware. REcording software, hardware. Field recording equipment and related items to help me in recording both my own work and the efforts of others as I travel and hear other bands and interesting musicians.

Well, to be honest, I am a collector of many things. Some would no doubt call me a packrat. I find value in many things, but I find beauty in most things musical, and if I find an instrument I have not learned to play, I will get it and learn to play it! If I do not understand how it works I will learn how to make it. It is in my inquisitive nature, I guess. I might say I collect or adopt animals, but more accurately I think animals adopt me! Anything from deer to donkeys to the traditional domestic cats and dogs, of which I always seem to have quite a few. I have been in 12-step recovery circles for over two decades and collect memorabilia from conventions and events as well and often donate them later for auctioning within the fellowship for fundraising efforts.

Spirituality (not religous necessarily though), music of most kinds: Jazz, latin, R&B, Soul, some old time Rock N Roll, folk music, Celtic music, middle Eastern musics, spiritual music, Asian, South Pacific, Central and South American music, Flamenco (my start with guitar in the 60s), 12 step recovery, making things, learning about this world we live in, ecology, history, cultures, ethnic foods, medicinal herbs and spices, hot peppers, especially growing habaneros (a personal favorite!), animals, women, friends and more, the list goes on as long as I go on!

I have a central vision loss and as such cannot read standard printed text well at all. Most written material is what I can access online or what can be found as audio books, etc. I have become a strong supporter and believer of 'the oral tradition' of passing down storytelling verbally through the generations, and the use of music, especially folk music as a sort of social histoical record.

I don't go to a lot of movies, to be honest. I used to like foreign movies with subtitles but can't read the subtitles usually anymore. I practiced Portuguese and Spanish in those countries by watching subtitles in the neighboring country, but I can't do that anymore. I used to watch Science Fiction and Fantasy type movies a lot, and some love stories and some suspense thriller-type movies.

Hard topic for me! Depends on the instrument. For harmonica, I'd have to say Stevie Wonder and Toots Thielemanns. For gutar it is more difficult, I have many favorites. Joe Pass, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Larry Coryell, Larry Carlton, wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, just to name a very few. Hubert Laws, Paco de Lucia, Flaco Jiminez, Douglas Sahm, Ry Cooder, Tommy Tudesco, Herb Alpert (both as a musician and a human being), Carlos Santana, John Coltraine, Miles Davis, I could go on and on...Weather Report, Jazz Crusaders, Sir Douglas Quintet +2, Tejas Tornados, the Texas Playboys, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Yusef Lateef, Phil McCandles and Oregon, the String Cheese Incident, and we've just touched the surface!

Twilight Zone, One Step Beyond, Dark Shadows (remember that one out of the 60s?), 'seinfeld (sometimes), PBS in general, Austin City Limits, Mystery!, REba, SouthPark, the old 'Late Nite @ the Sleazy Arms Hotel with James Gabbert' for the occasional local SF Bay Area musical talent, C.O.P.S., Dragnet, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra on PBS specials, many many memorable PBS spiritual and self-awareness and music specials.
