Good game with great potential but some important flaws
The depth of rosters, stadiums, and game types is impressive but some things are missing that I would enjoy. The first is a franchise mode. There is a success mode in which you control a single player but it has hours of unneccesary and boring text and dialogue with little if any actual baseball, and a season mode but you can't play multiple seasons and develop your players which is what I look for in a sports game. The controls are nice except I wish they would have taken advantage of the Wii controls to use an actual swing rather than button smashing to hit the ball. Its just sitting there begging baseball games to use the swing potential. Also I found that it is difficult to tweak the difficulty so that you arn't beating the computer by 30 but not frustrated trying to run down ground balls that are through the infield before you realize it got hit. So overall great depth... maybe too much, but a fun game with great potential, and hours of play time if you are into baseball.

Great game, Lots of fun, Good amount of play time.
The game is very intuitive as far as racing goes. There are several racing modes which I will try to give a few game tips for in order to minimize frustration. Game tips: Speed races- For easy play do a google search for game cheats and use the viper you get for the majority of the game. When tuning I suggest firm suspension up front, and I leave the back untouched. Tire pressure is a preference, low pressure for traction (only lower for traction on powered wheels (eg rear low pressure in a RWD vehicle). Low tire pressure will reduce max speed so keep that in mind. Max out all nitrous settings other than the last setting (I believe its flow rate, not sure, that can stay standard) Drift: Use the RX-7, by far the best drift car. Lower the suspension to min height. Stiffer suspensions tend to work better in my opinion, but set steering (final setting in suspension) to loose. Drag: I suggest the chevelle or supra. Any old school muscle car can do the trick really. Max ride hight. Make all front suspension soft and all rear stiff. Max final gear ratio, and set all other gears so that you can have good shifts, but the shorter the better. Max nitrous except for last setting. Wheelie: MUST use muscle car and MUST have suspension 3 or you won't get anywhere. Chevelle works well here also. Speed Challenge: Start by using the BMW you win it has good stability but use stock tires. This is very important or you will bounce all over. This applys to all speed challenge vehicles. When you win the Skyline use that, it is also very stable with good top speed. I didnt mess with tuning too much other than the general nitrous recommendations. If you start having trouble winning with the skyline, purchase the porche 911 turbo, murcialago, or the zonda if you have lots of cash. I like the turbo personally, and it will get your through the game. This info should keep you from banging your head against the wall when playing. Good luck, and please vote me helpful if my tips help you. Randy

Good game but problems with implementation of motion +
As many of us Wii owners have found out, the Wii system is at its best when Wii sports is super glued within our systems. Wii sports resort is the perfect update to the Wii sports package and the only reason to use the crowbar to pry out Wii sports. Resort offers many more games both mirroring wii sport's previous game types as well as many genuine new additions. The games have been detailed in other reviews so I will focus on my disappointment in changes in certain games and with the controls. The first problem being the removal of the wii fitness challenges as well as the age calculator. This was a favorite daily activity of mine which is absent in sports resort. Also another of my favorite daily activities was a couple games of bowling with my 55 year old mother who also loves Wii sports. This is where wii sports resort lost a lot of points with me. The addition of the motion plus accessory makes throwing a curve (the most effective way of bowling strikes) the most unrealistic, unnatural movement ever seen. Anything resembling a bowling motion will throw a ball that is straight as an arrow resulting in horrible scores and little fun. I find that I can throw a nice curve piling up strikes and 200 point games, but look like a rooster with a broken arm in the process... Far from realistic. This wii motion plus issue also manifested itself in my other favorite game, wii golf. Sure you get ALOT more play time with more courses but the game was simply made MUCH harder. They added another variable to the swing without adding backspin, extra distance, or lob control simply making the game harder much the way bowling was made much harder. Bottom line: If you are a wii sports fan you will enjoy this title for hours. If you are an avid wii sports bowler you might easily be frustrated and angry at the changes made by the motion plus control system, and if you are an avid golfer you might find yourself frustrated despite the extra holes unless you are looking for more of a challenge, and more realistic replication of impact points and the importance of a repeatable swing. Overall it is a definite must have for the wii sports fan but you might easily find yourself going back to your trusty wii sports for certain favorites. Randy
