What everyone should know about me

My on screen name belongs to our beloved Dachshund, Billy who we rescued back in 2000. Billy is pictured with our other rescue pup, a handsome rat terrier, Joey. Billy has one blue eye and one brown eye. Hence - BillyBlueeye.

Vases, pottery, glassware, paintings, photography, orchids, and the unusual - whatever it might be.

Things I collect

Vases - but they must be unusual - either in shape, color, size. One of a kind, mint or very good condition are key phrases that I look for. Items that have been in the family or those that come from estate sales are usually in good condition. We also collect fine art - paintings, watercolors and sculpture - either new or antique.

Gardening. I have a strong interest in growing orchids and currently have 45 cymbidiums (outdoor) and about 38 indoor orchids. I have a knack at getting them to bloom annually about 75% of the time and about 50% of the time twice a year. My star performer is a phalaenopsis that has been in spike and bloom since July of 2004. My secret for indoor orchids is plant them in pots with the holes in the sides and feed them every other week with 1/2 strength orchid fertilizer.
