I live and work in Brunei, South East Asia but I am originally from England. I have been quilting many years and recently turned from traditional patchwork and applique to designing my own art quilts mostly inspired by the natural world around me. I like to take my own photos and then turn them into unique works of art using fabric, threads, embellishments and quilting. I use applique in a lot of my designs and I especially love to do it by hand using silk threads, time consuming but relaxing. I also do invisible,satin stitch and raw edge applique and sometimes I combine it with traditional patchowrk or foundation piecing.I also enjoy doing decorative machine embroidery to add interest and texture. All designs are made and quilted by myself on my domestic sewing machine. I use best quality 100% cotton fabrics in my wall hangings; batiks are my favorites because I love their texture and the wonderful color combinations.Each art quilt is finished with my own label and a hanging sleeve.
