a text book action flick
A great adaptation of the famous manga graphic novels. Its a bit of a no-brainer but the action is constant, the fight sequences exciting and the end goes with a bang.... What more do you want? Chris

Wing Commander (Top Gun in space)
Many die hard W.C fans hated this film and it was panned by the critics, but maybe you should look again. Ok it's hammy acting, poor effects and a storyline that leaves a lot to be desired but what were you expecting it's a sci-fi B movie? Many Wing Commander gaming fans said it wasn't enough like the game. It's not a game, it's a film! More than that, it's a fun film, a bit of sci-fi stupidity and what's wrong with that? There are space battles, there are buddy buddy moments. People die in big explosions, the fate of Earth is at stake! I mean what more do you want? It's not the same as the game and that made all the geeks go and cry into their hard drive but who cares? It's a bit of 'better than average' space fighting fun, The 'Top Gun' of sci-fi. Give it a view and take it for what it is. It's worth watching, and I guarantee it will soon become a guilty pleasure you watch again and again.

Good grouping of novels.
Some good solid reading here. The novels Redemption Corps, Cadian Blood and Dead Men Walking are previously published and collected here with a few short stories to liven the pot. Cadian blood follows Thade, a gritty Captain fighting a seemingly lost cause far away from the war that needs him (on his Chaos blighted home world). His troops are second to none, unlike some of the other regiments fated to fight by their side, and the story follows the Cadians from one battle to the next. But as hope appears in the form of the Astartes, so does an ancient and terrible foe. As the forces of Chaos cement their hold over the planet, the Cadians and their Space Marine allies fight to deny the archenemy. Redemption Corps is a different kind of story. Major Mortensen and his regiment of storm troopers fight the toughest battles and this one is no different, until a new enemy arises. This enemy is the ultra militant forces of the Imperium. Fearing the Major has become too popular they are determined he is to fall. With war on two sides and traitors in their midst, the Redemption Corps must put their faith in their leader and fight. Another twist from the standard Imperial Guard story is Dead Men Walking. This follows two young lovers who are separated when Necron forces invade their world. The two 'Heroes' (for want of a better word) are in various scrapes and fights, trying to find each other in the maelstrom of a brutal war. This is a grim tale. A harrowing account of the death of a world.
