Business InformationHistory/background
Since 9/2000 on eBay I've stayed on the sidelines as a buyer. Now I am venturing into the world of selling. I think I've learned a lot as a customer, about what can be done right, and what can be done so very wrong.
I have high expectations as a customer in the world at large. I've worked in the service industry for 17 years. I think this combination of things can help me anticipate your needs, provide good service, get you what you need, make a good deal for both of us, and has the potential to teach me what it takes to avoid the pitfalls of bad selling.
I am a member of the ANA and a member of the eBay Numismatic Seller Registration Board. I voluntarily agree to uphold the standards of these groups in my dealings. I am also ID verified. In the ID Verify process, a 3rd-party company (Equifax in the U.S.) works with eBay to confirm a member’s identity by cross-checking their contact information using consumer & business databases to establish an eBay member's proof of identity.
Payment policy
PayPal only folks. I'm new at this, and for now, I am solely accepting PayPal. It is the fastest, easiest, and MOST SECURE method of payment for purchases on eBay. For your protection and mine, PayPal is the way to go. Because I am established with sufficient feedback, you are protected with your purchases for up to $2,000 by PayPal - another reason to feel confident that this is the way to go.
I ship to CONFIRMED PayPal addresses only! This is required to comply with PayPal seller and buyer protection policies. I will not substitute alternate addresses written in the notes submitted with a payment.
No eChecks.
Payment is expected within five (5) days of the close of the auction, except in BUY IT NOW items, where payment should be made immediately, unless alternate arrangements have been made with me (this is determined on a case by case basis, such as when a Buy it Now item may be combined with another auction ending later that day).
Shipping information
I'm from a small town, & call me old fashioned, but I use the U.S. Postal Service, rather than UPS/FedEx. For your orders, the method of shipment will depend what you buy, cost, & the quantity(one auction or many). A small order would likely ship 1st Class Mail at the lowest possible cost to you. A larger order I'd try to save you money by using a Flat Rate Priority Mail box, if necessary. If your order was particularly valuable, I would most certainly use Registered Mail, the MOST SECURE method of transit. NGC (Numismatic Guarantee Corporation, the official grading service of the American Numismatic Association) uses Registered Mail for returning graded coins to it's Collector's Society members (like me). Registered Mail also LOWERS the cost of insurance as an effort to save you money, while adding security for your investment. I require insurance on all shipments & $0.65 delivery confirmation/tracking orders up to $150. I require Signature Confirmation on orders in excess of $150.
Return policy
Returns accepted within 5 postal days of receipt. Please contact me by email before initiating any return. If there is a problem, I'd like the opportunity to remedy it. Returns must be made in their original condition. For example, graded/slabbed coins must be intact, in their original holder, not tampered with or removed from the slab. The return policy is void if the coin is removed from a slab. Shipping & handling is non-refundable, unless there is evidence that there is damage or that the wrong coin was shipped erroneously. There is a 7% restocking fee.
Coins sold in Original Government Packaging (OGP) must remain in the OGP, for instance mylar sleeves must not be broken, nor coins removed. Such tampering would also void this return policy.
EXCEPTION: Due to volatility in the BULLION MARKET, Certified GOLD, SILVER, & PLATINUM bullion coins MAY NOT BE RETURNED. If a shipping error occurs & you received the wrong coin, I'll reimburse your cost & waive the restocking fee.
Contact information
I prefer contact through eBay's auction system, based on the item about which you are inquiring. This helps me to know immediately the nature of your inquiry, and I can more readily assist you with a particular item.
Combined Shipping Discount
If you are willing to make additional purchases from me, I'm happy to help you save money on shipping! So yes, I offer a combined shipping discount for auction items won within five (5) days of the close of your first item. Please refer to auction listings for specific details of combined shipping discount, or contact me for details if bidding on multiple auctions. While I do need to cover my costs and materials(packing materials are expensive), I WILL NOT price gouge on postage. Therefore, my postage prices will be as true to form as possible. Postal insurance prices will be exactly what is charged by the USPS based on the value of your item(s), which may be higher than the final auction closing price. With some items, the cost of insurance will be included. Postage will be as true to form as possible, allowing me the chance to pay for materials & my own costs such as grading, shipping to/from NGC, a cost which has increased significantly due to rate increases from the USPS & NGC.
Quality Merchandise
For graded coins, I primarily deal in coins that are certified by: NGC (Numismatic Guarantee Corporation), the official grading service of the ANA(American Numismatic Association) and the PNG(Professional Numismatist Guild) or by PCGS(Professional Coin Grading Service). These two services are widely considered to be the top tier grading services by the collecting community. I will, occasionally, deal in coins graded by ANACS, the oldest grading service in the country, which, as its name implies, was originally part of the ANA, but has long since spun off. Lastly, I also occasionally have a coin graded by ICG, again, this is what I consider a second tier grading service, but you must judge for yourself. You may also read eBay's policy on the sale of certified coins, and how the coins graded by all four of these companies are the only coins that qualify to be listed by sellers as certified coins. You may also refer to my Buyer's Guide on the subject. I will sometime sell raw coins too.
