History/background
As a way of saying thank you to Bath RUH's Cheselden Ward for looking after our father, we have been organising an auction to raise money for their ‘Charitable Fund’, which was set up specifically for donations to buy new equipment. The Fund is currently being used to raise money for a Portable Bladder Scanner, which costs between £8,000 and £10,000, though the fund itself is used to buy many items needed in the department which will no doubt help save more lives.
We would also like to make a contribution to the Arthritis Research Campaign, as in doing so, we may be able to fund new research into the disease and thus improve the quality of life of over 10 million sufferers of arthritis (and related conditions) in the UK. There are currently around 400,000 adults in the UK who suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis, our father’s condition. [http://www.arc.org.uk/arthinfo/]
