I started Call of the Wool at the age of 16. I am now shepherdess to 39 sweet and friendly Shetland sheep. Shetland Sheep come in 11 natural colors and have lusciously soft fleeces with outstanding fleece length and luster. At Call of the Wool we strive to preserve the variety of colors and fleece types found in the Shetland breed. Shetlands are small in stature, easy to handle and perfect for families. My sheep come running when I call them and wiggle their tails in response to petting and attention. As the owner of Call of the Wool, I do my own shearing, fleece washing, carding, spinning and create my own knit and crochet patterns to ensure that every creation is an original work of art.
