October 1, 2008 will mark 10 years of me using eBay (albeit I was a buyer for the first 4 years or so). I've recently taken time off to update my store and policies to better help everyone looking for parts for their classic Cadillacs. Hopefully, it will work out for the better but if not, I'm still more than happy to answer questions, offer restoration advice and help out in any way I can.
Payment policy
As of March 1st, 2008, I only accept Paypal for payment. I know there will be a few gripes about not taking money orders but to be honest, money order payments accounted for about 3% of my sales and it's not really worth the effort to have to drive to the bank to cash them or have to wait to receive them or for them to clear. If you have to use a check, Paypal offer E-Checks and I do accept those. E-Checks are NOT instant payments! They take time to clear and the item won't ship till it clears!
Shipping information
I do all my shipping on the Friday or Saturday AFTER I receive payment. This is a hobby for me and I'm a full time field tech for Verizon so I only have time to do my mailing at the start of the weekend. Even though I may print the postage labels on a Monday, the package may not get dropped off or picked up till that Friday or Saturday so please be patient before sending the hate mail and bomb threats that you paid on Monday and your hubcap isn't in your hand by Thursday... Although I do sometimes find a bit of time during the week to mail the package within a day of printing the label, but rarely do I get emails of praise and offers of free apple pies when an auction paid for on a Monday arrives on Wednesday. Funny how quick the emails fly when something goes wrong but never when they go right....ah well.
Return policy
What return policy? Unless the item is undeniably and completely different from what you purchased, I don't do returns. Everyone has their own opinion as to what is mint and what is junk so trying to please everyone all of the time just won't happen and I don't have the time to deal with people that consider every nick, scratch and dust speck a reason to return an AS IS item. I give everything a fair enough rating so whatever you get easily falls into the spectrum of that rating. Although most of the time I undergrade a part so that most people are pleasantly surprised by getting a part they thought would be in lesser condition.
