Not up to Sony quality
0 of 1 found this helpful I have been using Sony digital cameras in my work as a yacht broker for 20 years, starting with the mavica, and have found them rugged, and giving years of service in rough and wet environments, till the bezel extender usually fails. I bought the DSC-W530 as an additional pocket camera for my summer in Italy. I laid it down on a marble table in the Vatican (not dropped) and the screen stopped working. The battery trap door fell off in the crowd before I got home. It was a flimsy piece of junk. Luckily, I had two DSC-W55's with me, to save the trip. One of those had been dropped, was put back together with duct tape, and still takes excellent pictures. I returned the new camera to Sony, but they refused to honor the warranty, and asked me to pay twice retail to fix this piece of junk. I guess quality goes out the door when a company gets in financial trouble.
