Finally on DVD!!! I don't know how you can keep a dry eye...
Finally on DVD! This is just a wonderful story. A czech woman is searching for her lost boy after the end of WWII. The documentary style of the movie, especially the first half is heart wrenching. All those young kids without parents, alone and grief stricken from the bleakness of the concentration camps. You really feel for them during that time period. The war might have stopped but the tears of sorrow did not. The narration and intro make this clear. While the little boy is presumed dead, he wanders the ruins of Nuremberg. Steve (Clift) finds him hungry, dirty and tattered. Steve takes care of him and learns of his past via a tattoo on the little boys arm. He also teaches the little boy English, names him "Jim" and offers to take the boy to the States. These scenes offer some very casual and humorous dialogue. The most natural I have ever seen Montgomery Clift. Meanwhile, the czech boy's mother is searching, searching searching... Will she ever find her lost son? Will "Jim" ever know what having a mother means? Would you give up on your search for your loved ones if you were in their position? I viewed this film a decade ago for the first time and have remembered it and loved it ever since. The courage of those lost orphans are amazing. Now this film is finally on DVD! What a great film!

Total Gaming Satisfaction!! Break Neck Speeds, Crowded Streets.
I have been playing Test Drive (2000) for many years now. Boredom is not possible with this game. 5 cars to choose, 3 being accurately fast classic muscle. The handling of each is different, which is a challenge. 10 different race games to choose. You can race A to B type or circuit type. Then there is a navigational challenge (you drive and turn when the arrows tell you) and then a police pursuit. Each game is plastered with civilian traffic, sometimes in challenging positions on blind turns at blistering speeds. The music soundtrack is okay with its hip hop but it provides an option to file your own mp3 songs. Which is perfect for someone like me who has a vinyl record collection. Already have the digital copies on my PC. Made some short clips of each song. Which adds to the humor of some of the big crashes that can happen in this game. Which brings us to another great feature of this game; Replay. Replay the game you just raced and you will just laugh at your terrible driving or, the flying leap crash that happened or some other amusing fast traffic antics. Many of which might have you in stitches in laughter. Like football punting a Mini Cooper while racing in London driving a 1965 GTO when the sharp turn you take doesn't go according to plan. That sucker gets air! Test Drive, although now over 10 years old, is still a great game pleaser with its attention to detail and challenge of concentration in order to even finish a race in a respectable place holding. 1st place positions are not given away here.

A Mutated Monster Marriage double feature
Them! - Great cast. Good giant ant effects. Great development of story. I particularly enjoy the investigative aspect of this film. It adds a more realistic, plausible aspect to it. Watch out for THEM! Beast - Again another great feature from effects wizard Ray Harryhausen. The lighthouse scene is really well done! My rating is average, only because I have found that many reviews for this double feature DVD are not good. It seems that the A side of the DVD has a problem playing correctly. Scrambled picture and jumbled menu seem to be a problem.
