My primary collections are Turkey, U.N., and flags on stamps. As an American I’ve built up a appreciable USA collection as I have with Guatemala, Romania, and Nature stamps. I need to focus on my three main collections and I can tell you there must be bizillions of stamps that have tiny flags and flag motif, so it will be a never ending quest.

One can learn a lot about life through stamps. I’m learning geography, history, war and peace, cultural differences and similarities. I help international students find American Universities and help them get in, and play mama to them until they return to their homeland. I see the need for more understanding and PEACE! Let’s all work towards that!

Actually I've assembled stamps all my life, starting in 1958 when I was 6 years old, but only recently allowed myself time to work with my stamps and truly collect them! My grandmothers gathered stamps for me as well as other friends and family members. So when I moved a few years ago all these huge storage containers were assembled and I realized just how many stamps I had assembled. I made the mistake of opening one of the containers and poking through it - thousands of stamps torn off envelopes, plus things I had never seen in other collectors’ collections.

Now several years later, thanks to purchases and trades with other collectors from 3 stamp auction websites, my collection is finally getting organized. I collect way to many topics and countries and I find that my interests change with the seasons it almost seems! I seem to like to build up a respectable stockbook (now I’m going to notebooks with Vario pages) of a topic and then taking it off the actively buying list, though sometimes I can not pass on a beautiful lighthouse or windmill, or scouting, or NATO, or Red Cross stamp, block or sheet.
