About

We're still here...we used to be an active seller of Disney pins (real ones, not scrappers). Out of the loop long enough that I'm probably not helpful with Disney pin questions; sorry. One of these days, I'll may have some more vintage fountain pens and pencils I'll list. Maybe even some older US Postage Stamps (which I know little about but am trying to research)...if you know anything, perhaps you can educate me! In the meantime, have a great day.

Alice - Not the Original, But a Good Condensed Version
Alice in Wonderland has always been a favorite with me, first through the original Lewis Carroll fantasy and then thorugh Disney's adaptation. Because of that, though I'm a huge Disney fan, I can't give this an excellent rating. The issue with any condensed or juvenile version is that editors have to decide what from the original story is worthy to keep and what must be cut out. In the case of Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland (available in both hardback and softback versions), not only is this editing done from the original manuscript, but it's more condensed from the Disney film version. This is no easy task, and writer Teddy Slater has admittedly done a decent job (thus the (Good) rating...but I would encourage parents to consider the reading capabilities of their children and determine if the original manuscript would be more to their liking. Yes, this version is a quick read; but if you want to really expose your child to Lewis Carroll's masterpiece, have them go to the original source. One positive to this particular version is that Slater has tied in several full-color pages of scenes from the Disney movie. This helps maintain interest to the reader. So in the end, here's the review: If you child's an avid reader, have them go to Carroll's original. If they're anything less than that, this book might help spark a greater interest in reading.

Learn from Disney Company's Philosophy of Excellence!
I am SO sold on this book, because I am so sold on the approach Disney uses to bring excellence to any business. This book, originally offered as part of a Disney Institute course but then sold separately, has been used by corporations worldwide to help develop company mission statements, guidelines and customer service atmospheres of excellence. There's a reason why 7 of 10 Guests who visit Walt Disney World return, and it's not just "pixie dust." There are specific areas of customer service they have developed to provide "magical experiences" for all. And this book helps translate that experience into practical application. It covers everything from developing a quality Service Cycle to the importance of the Cast Member (their name for employees), from creating a smooth business process to delivering on a company's promises. Businesses from Fortune 500 to hospitals to convenience store chains have successfully used the lessons in this 200+ page book to better themselves. The church where I work even incorporated some of the service philosophy into the way we treat Guests. Most business books bore me, frankly...but whether you're a Disney fan or a businessperson, I believe you'll find this a beneficial read. It's still available at Walt Disney World, but you can often find a copy on eBay for a great price... Thanks for looking over this review; I hope you'll find the book as helpful as I have. It's been highlighted and underlined throughout...

25X 8 Lens Magnifier Magnifying Eye Glass Loupe Jeweler Watch Repair LED Light
May 13, 2020
Inexpensive Solution for the Hobbiest
This is by no means a fine jeweler's magnifier...but for what I needed as a hobbyist, it's outstanding. With interchangeable magnification - and the ability to move each of the eye pieces independently of the other - it sped up my detail viewing process by more than double. If needed, will doubtless buy this again.
