Battle March bogs down
Probably the worst documentation ever. Very short manual that barely scratches the surface of the controls. The tutorial is also poorly implemented as it runs at it's own pace, rather than waiting to see if you completely understand, and accomplish, a given task. The wonderful graphics and character movement are well executed, and the camera controls allow you full zoom, pan, tilt and truck capability, so you can move into almost any position, but these fail to overcome the documentation and control shortcomings. Bottom line ? The game will probably gather dust on the shelf.

...if you want to get a better understanding of the risks we're facing as an interconnected, network dependent society. Exceptionally well researched by Richard Clarke, a man with his feet and head firmly on the ground, and having personally "seen it, been there, done that". Written in layman's terms, he deliberately stays away from a doom-and-gloom attitude and makes you think about what will happen if we're faced with a deliberate cyber-attack. Everything we take for granted (electricity, financing, transportation, movement of goods) is now a part of the vast network, and if the network is shut down, almost everything comes to a complete stop and we're left in the dark, literally, for a possibly very long time. As an IT professional, even I found myself changing the way I did business. The risks are real, yet collectively we are either blissfully unaware or have deliberately put our head in the sand and pretend that it will never happen.

Great performance but too many bad preinstalled apps.
Motorola did a terrific job delivering a high quality product that capitalizes on the rich 'droid capabilities. Motorola traded away a physical keyboard in order to provide a large display and keep the weight down. The relatively comparable HTC version with it's physical keyboard weighs a lot more. The large Droid X display makes it easy to type on and hit the right icons the first time, so you won't miss the physical keyboard. While the Droid X is not as sleek as the Apple iPhone, the Verizon network is much more robust than the AT&T network, so the 'droid is "in network" more often than an iPhone; important if you're moving data or use the phone a lot. My only complaint is the large number of apps that I neither want, nor use, and you cannot easily uninstall. Many of them self-load which means they eat up memory space. Suggest the very first thing you do is install the Task Killer app; even then it's a constant battle to keep crap like CityID from load and eating away at the available memory. Battery life is also relatively short (about 8 hours with minimal phone use) so buy a car charger or an extra power cord for the office.
