Vinegar Hill by A. Manette Ansay
I purchased this book based upon Oprah Winfrey's recommendation, specifically, her book club. I was very disappointed. I expected a book that was horrifying and gripping, but I found it to be dull and boring. There was no excitement whatsoever. I read the entire book, hoping that it just started out slow, and would get more interesting as I delved deeper into the book. That just wasn't the case. If you are looking for a book written in monotone verbiage, then this may be for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It is simply boring and unexciting. Sorry, Oprah.

Excellent projects for silk paper creations/techniques
This book is most helpful in explaining the entire silk paper making process, which was based on the author's trial and error. She tells you WHY something will work, and WHY something will not work. There are lots of projects in the book which are user-friendly, even for the beginner. I purchased this book because I find this to be a fasinating technique and I want to be in the forefront of crafting trends. This has not made it big in the US yet, so I thought it would be nice to create something that most people here have not seen or tried. The only thing I wish they covered in the book would be how to dye the silk--everything in the book uses silk that has already been dyed. All in all, it's a great book for the money, especially for those who want to do something creative and different.

Standing on the Edge by John Berry - CD
Interestingly enough, I had never heard of John Berry until my husband played this CD on a pretty regular basis after we were first married. Wow, was I missing out before then! The words and lyrics to the songs on this CD are touching and heartfelt. One of my favorite songs on this CD is "Only You". It's a sad song about a man wanting a second chance with the love of his life. The song is sung with such emotion, it really is heartwrenching and absolutely beautiful. The piano music in the background is also lovely in every aspect. I highly recommend this CD to someone who wants something a little different than the standards they play on country music radio these days. They won't be disappointed.
