Decent value for the money. Decent knock-off product. Tentatively recommend
I bought a white one of these from a seller who claimed it to be a genuine, original, official, etc. Sony product at 25 dollars less than MSRP. Well, should have known better (too good to be true and all that). After a moment's inspection (and a few youtube videoes) I have determined that the product is a knockoff, albiet, a good knockoff. Here's the good: it syncs to my PS3 as quickly and reliably as my Official Sony controller. The range is just as good, it holds a charge almost as well, and charges quickly. All of the buttons work and for someone who is about to buy a PS4 and move on to the next generation of console gaming, this is a suitable alternative to buying a brand new official controller. Here's the bad: I think there's a marginal delay on the button response; I can't prove it and it might just be in my head, but I suspect it nonetheless. Also, the X,O,T,S buttons are a lot LOUDER than the original. As in when you press them, there's an audible click. Also, the springs on the R2 and L2 buttons have started to squeak, which is kind of annoying. Also, the middle PS button squeaks a little too. The squeaking could probably be fixed by opening the controller up and replacing the bad parts with parts from my old controller, but that's how I broke that one, so I'm going to just deal with it until I stop playing PS3 altogether. Basically, if you're just sitting around enjoying your old PS3 games, don't play much in general, don't play much online, and can put up with the above, this knock-off is for you. Otherwise, just shell out the cash for an official one. As always, if a seller on ebay tells you it's genuine but it's priced low, it's likely not genuine. Hint: Check the french on the back label.
