Moving and Letting Go of Anchors
I've moved back to the home where I was raised. It's time to clear out my Mom's, which is anchoring both of us. Letting go of things you've collected throughout your life isn't an easy task; they hold memories, joyful and sad. I believe it's a transformative process that will result in a positive outcome. My goal is to keep only vintage collectibles, which will fit in my Playskool wagon, providing the interior space of 8½ X 6½. It was at this age that I learned to appreciate the value of things with wheels; a central theme when I'm artistically redesigning old items to serve a useful function.
Business InformationHistory/background
A bit of my story; I'm at a crossroads.
I earned a degree in Fine Arts back in the days when they didn't prepare you for getting a job in the real world. I bought my first computer and digital camera 2 years ago. I've had a lot of catching up to do! I enjoy creating beauty or encouraging new ways of seeing things through my work. I enjoy transforming what others consider trash and creating works of art or useful items. I hope to leave everything better than when I find it.
After tiring of working at art galleries, I continued my studies in education and became a certified Montessori Teacher. I found out I was more interested in creating and working with the educational materials than actually working among the chaos of kids. I went back to school for 3 years and studied complimentary and energy medicine. For ten years I owned a business in clinical massage therapy and Reiki healing.
Payment policy
Wouldn't it be great if we could simplify and just use cash! Pay Pal, which allows you to use credit cards, is usually accepted; however, items that are higher priced, I prefer a Check or Money Order.
Shipping information
Combined shipping is welcome; please be sure to e-mail me first for a final invoice, rather than completing the transaction immediately with the eBay check out or with the automatically generated invoice. I have ascertained that it is necessary to charge a handling fee. I am not gouging you; I'm only nominally covering my expense, which doesn't come close to covering the time involved or the transaction fees from eBay and Pay Pal. I apologize to international buyers, but I charge a higher handling fee, since I'm dealing with more time and higher fees to complete the transaction. If you are unhappy or think anything is unfair, please let's discuss it and hopefully we will be able to work out any confusion or conflicts.
I think, as with all things in this life, everyone would benefit from being a buyer and seller so that they would have first hand knowledge of the experience. I'm sure it would lessen any possible conflicts in this arena.
Return policy
I need to simplify and the whole point of selling my things on eBay is so that my Mom and I have the freedom to move with ease. I don't need the stress, nor am I able to afford the cost of returns. My Pledge to you is that I honestly depict the items. Please read the description and inspect photos thoroughly. Of course, as a human being, I make errors occasionally and in this case, I will refund 100% of the item's cost.
Contact information
Please don't hesitate to ask questions. Feedback is greatly appreciated; it signifies that you received your purchase and I'm able to breathe easier. There will be large lapses in time when I list items, since I have discovered it's best to list a large grouping of items at the same time so that you are able to save money with combined shipping.
What environment were these items in?
I've never smoked cigarettes; however, when my family members were young they smoked. I have no way to know about the items I collected at antique shops. I had the best dog in the world, my beloved Bear dog, who passed away from cancer when he was 9. Baffling to me, but my Mom isn't an animal person, so there hasn't been a dog living here for 30 years. My Mom hasn't smoked for about that long also. We have always had a dehumidifier in our basement where many of the items have been stored.
Condition Clarification
Time alone ages things. It's reasonable to expect some wear on pre-owned/pre-loved items. Please remember items weren't purchased as investments. I do my best to take clear pictures, which are in focus and without reflections, but it's a challenge at my skill level! I'll e-mail additional photos. There will be a site link soon to view additional photos. I describe the items in good faith and clarify imperfections to the best of my ability. I'm not an expert in antiques/collectibles. I research items to educate myself so that I am able to provide accurate information. I've seen the devastating consequences of inexperienced/unethical framers who devalued artwork by inappropriate material usage & treatment; therefore, I'll leave restoration decisions to someone who's more experienced. Things that have been stored for decades I will gently clean, but I'll not wash vintage clothes etc., since I don't want to cause damage.
