How I practice archery
I absolutely would not launch an arrow at a game animal at longer than 35 yards but I make it a habit to practice shooting at sixty to one hundred yards at the range. I also shoot in all weather conditions, attend several 3D shoots each year, spend a lot of time in the woods stump shooting (use Judo points). And finally, a eBay customer suggested shooting at baloons on windy days. It's the most fun and really helps improve focus and concentration. Several of the 3D shoots I attended this year had moving targets and in actual hunting most of the targets I get are moving. The balloon practice really works and is GREAT FUN. Kids really love the balloon shooting too.
Business InformationHistory/background
I bought Thunder Lake Archery in Sept 2009. I am the third owner. The original name was Van's Archery. Most of the equipment I use was hand built by Van. Some is nearly an hundred years old and needed a lot of repair and maintanence. Others were made seventy years ago or more so it was difficult, to say the least, to find some where to look for repairs and parts. Through an archery retailer and dealer I found a machinist in IA to fabricate repair parts and teach me how to properly set up and use some of the machines. The rest has been trial and error. I also added a few modern machines made by the same machinist. Not only is the machinery unique, but the arrows I can build are uniqe as well.
Payment policy
I prefer to use PayPal for payments as it allows me to do what I want to do, make arrows. PayPal is the most secure payment method for both customer and retailer. PayPal is also the fastest method for recieving your orders. When an order is placed I prepare it for shipping, when payment is clear I ship the package. PayPal does the clearing of payments immediately, no waiting for the bank. You, as the customer, can feel secure that I have been cleared by PayPal and that your payment will be sent to the correct party and NO ONE will have access to your information other than your shipping address.
Shipping information
I ship worldwide. I do my best to keep shipping costs low and making sure your package arrives safely and on time. On orders when shipping is included I will discount international orders. I do not mark up shipping costs. I have had one package damaged in shipping and since then have changed to a more reliable packaging. I do not mark up shipping costs but I do include a minimal handling charge to offset the more expensive packaging I now use. I also do not profit from handling charges. My business is making arrows, not packaging.
Return policy
I gladly accept returns if unused. If when you recieve your arrows if you aren't totally pleased, put them back in the box and send them back for a full refund of purchase price (less shipping). Please, check my feedback comments, I have not met or heard from anyone who does not like my arrows. Sorry but I cannot accept returns of custom cut to length, crown dipped, crested or fletched arrows. Only my stock arrows, those you see advertised are returnable. Custom bow strings (team colors, club colors, etc) are not returnable. PLEASE BE SURE STRING YOU ORDER IS THE CORRECT ONE FOR YOUR BOW.
