My name is Cindy, married to a Union Carpenter for 27 years ... there are 4 generations of union carpenters in our family. I live in Nevada with my husband and two spoiled silky terriers. We have also been blessed with three pretty awesome kids.

History/background
I started making skull caps & sweatbands for the hard hats back in 1995, when some of the guys on the jobsite knew that I homesewed, so they started asking about making things to make their day on the job go a little smoother during the hot summer months...... So I designed a sweatband for the hard hats, and been using the same lil pattern I made since......... Then in 2005 I started making the hard hat shades or hat~dannas thats what my husband calls them......... I am a one person operator here, not some sweatshop so I take alot pride in my workmanship......... All my fabrics are carefully chosen, pre-washed, serged for durablity for my items that I make, I only buy the best fabrics that I can find, it makes a better product and it keeps my customers happy and coming back for more.

These neck shades make a huge difference! Its summer again and I had been working inside for almost 10 months now. I bought my CustomSkullcaps neck shade over the winter because I loved the design and knew I would need it in the future. Well sure enough this week on the two hottest days we had in Pittsburgh I had work on a metal Butler Building roof. The first day I rode my motorcycle to work and my neck shade was at home in my car. I got sooo burnt and sore and had a horrible night sleeping, sunburnt. Today, a few days after, I luckily had kept my neck shade with me and wore it all day. It made the biggest difference! I feel perfect and refreshed tonight while writting my review on this product. It kept me from getting burnt, it kept me cooler than I thought it would even in sunny 90 degree humid weather.
