Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for old videos to have tracking issues. Actually, in tracking problems, it is not the tape that is bad, its the newer equipment that is not well at tracking older tapes (the newer equipment is not as good as the older equipment). If you are into older VHS tapes, then I recommend that you get a really good VCR. Do your homework. Otherwise, you will always seem to have problems with older VHS tapes, which will preclude you from having a lot of fun with collector stuff.
