For the price of this phone on eBay, it is definitely worth a good look
I have tried all of Verizon's single core 4G LTE phones, and my conclusion: The Droid Charge gives you the most bang for your buck. The Droid Charge is pretty lightweight, especially because of the plastic build. The phone feels good in my hands, and the actual buttons at the bottom of the phone are to my liking. Call quality on the charge is very good. Phone calls sound crisp and clear, and reception is pretty consistent with other Verizon phones I have owned. In terms of sound clarity on both the speaker and handset, the Charge is better than The HTC Thunderbolt, but a notch below the Apple iPhone. The battery lasts much longer than other 4G phones from VZW, giving you most of the day without needing a recharge. If you have a spare battery, then you can rest assured that you will not experience the same "battery anxiety" as you do with other 4G phones. Also, the Charge's screen is very eye pleasing. The size (4.3") hits the sweet spot, and the colors are deep and bright. The 8mp camera on this phone is amazing. One of the first things I usually check out when first using a phone is the camera. On the Droid Charge, the camera takes beautiful close shots and colors are very bright. The touch to focus is great and comes in handy. The full screen viewfinder (6mpwide) is a great assistant to accentuate detail. I find the still images to be slightly brighter than the Thunderbolt and iPhone, with more saturated colors. 720p Video recording might lag at times, but is overall good for a phone camera. HDMI Mirror mode is one of my favorite features. By connecting an HDMI cable from the Charge to my HDTV, I can see my phone on the big screen. Whatever my phone screen is showing, that's what shows up on my TV. With 4G LTE on the Charge,I have experienced speeds averaging 14MBPS, but up to 34MBPS. Comparing this to Verizon's 3G which fetches around 1.5MBPS in my area, the 4G screams! The 4G doesn't affect the battery on this phone as much as it did on others, such as the HTC Thunderbolt and LG Revolultion, and there is a setting to turn it off. This phone is good, but not without it's issues. The amount of RAM in this phone is pretty low. In other words, you may experience lag in day to day use. Scrolling or swiping on the home screen or browser pages may get annoying for some. The lag is also apparent in multi tasking. I usually feel a burden when running more than one task, thus putting the built in task manager to more use. I usually stay on top of my running applications, so I'm not too upset. Another drawback is the software update process. It's unfortunate that a phone that was released just a few months ago has not received the software that was released over a year ago. Also, this phone will probably not receive Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0), but I may be wrong. I just can't picture the internals of this phone to be capable of running more demanding software. For the price that this phone is now selling on eBay, I highly recommend giving it a chance. The battery life is good, and the camera is great. 4G LTE speed is in a class of its own and is great on the Droid Charge.
