I have been in business most of my life, usually in the food service and hospitality areas. However, I've owned a car wash, quick lube service, apartments and so on. I am trying to retire and recently listed my family restaurant for sale.

Over the time I've been involved with eBay, I have learned there is a buyer for just about anything. So I offer anything and everything that becomes available. Often selling items I acquire from estate sales and antique shops in my area. For the past 4 or 5 years, I have focused on the coin world. Never having been involved with coins before, I was drawn in when the U.S. Mint issued the Commemorative Marine Corps Dollar in August of 2005. I'm a Marine veteran of the Vietnam era, once a Marine, always a Marine. Anyway, I started a personal collection of commemorative coins I call, WAR AND CONFLICT. I'm always looking for coins that fit into the general theme described at my collection site. Otherwise, if the price is right and I feel there is an opportunity to sell an item for a profit, I'll buy it. I try not to buy items that are too large to ship easily.

I used to collect way too much. Ebay has helped me reduce my collections. My real collection interest is in coins. I have a few stamps, but I'll sell them in a minute if someone offered to buy.

I like to write, paint, blow glass, build furniture, carve, sculpture in wood and dabble in ceramics. I also like to read. Travel is up toward the top of the list.

My favorite books are geo-political fiction and international spy and espionage types from authors like Joel Rosenburg, Ludlum, Grisham, Clancy and some of Michael Connelly's stuff. Non-fiction interests follow the same path. Political, Culture, Change, Hypocrisy and the like.

I don't know that I have a favorite movie. I like all kinds, Popcorn, Chic-flicks, Action and Adventure and Mystery. I love a good plot, but I also love to laugh. I stay away from War and Combat movies and the news because they are not healthy for me, too many memories - Vietnam.

I like to dance. I have regretted not learning to play an instrument in my earlier years. I know it's never too late, but my schedule is packed with other interests. I guess it's a matter of priorities.

I don't watch much TV. When I do, it's usually only on as a second interest while I'm doing something else. Discovery Channel, Science and Animal programs and comedy. Oh, I like Gulf and the NFL too.

God - Family - and Country. I am a christian with a strong relationship with Christ. Doing the right thing is important to me so I strive to be the best man I can. My children and four grand children (the fifth is due in January 2010) are the light of my life. I am a patriot. Regardless of which party is in office, I respect my Commander and Chief, the President of this great country. I recognize the problems we have but I've served in other lands and I like the USA, problems and all.

I've owned a few restaurants, a motel and other businesses as well as apartments. I'm pretty much done with that now.
