GET IT.... if the price is right!
1 of 1 found this helpful First off if you can get this lens for a few hundred less than retail-between $1900-2000 do it! It takes incredible pictures! Still learning how to use this lens with my new A77, but it doesn't seem too hard to figure out. Build quality is exceptional, but it is a very heavy lens (to be expected for this type of lens) and if you pair it up with a flash and vertical grip it weighs a ton. only complaint is that the rubber used on the focus and zoom rings collects every little spec of dust and dirt like a magnet. Other than that, it is a beautiful looking lens that takes excellent pictures. Oh yeah, tripod mount is kind of a pain in the but to remove.

Awesome flash, but has a slight wobbble when mounted to camera.
2 of 2 found this helpful Still learning how to use this flash. It is pretty amazing, especially the fact that it can rotate 90 degrees to have a proper flash while taking portraits. Lots of options. My only gripe is that even though it fits on the hot shoe of my A77 and A350 it has a slight wobble to it, front to back only on where it mates to the camera. It's not terrible, and it doesn't feel like it will come off the camera but it is slightly annoying, almost like the tolerances are a little too small. I read other reviews that state the same problem, so it's a Sony manufacturing issue. Also heard there is an issue with the flash over heating if used fast for extended periods. Other than that, it seems really great.
