This Deadpan Comedy Rocks!!
2 of 5 found this helpful What a bizarre treat! The characters are absurdly humorous. Peel away the deadpan nature of the main characters (and the smugness of the "in-crowd), and you'll find the emotional vulnerability that every teen (and adult) feels. Napoleon's skit is priceless. It's an unexpected treat. Also make sure to watch the finale AFTER the credits run.

Fun Family Film
1 of 3 found this helpful A delightful family film -- you might think of it as "Mary Poppins with warts & in need of orthodontic work." Emma Thompson's acting & screenplay are excellent, but Thomas Sangster, as the oldest Brown child, sparkles as the ring leader of nanny marauders. Fine performances by Colin Firth, Angela Landsbury, and Kelly McDonald make this a very entertaining movie that will provide wholesome fun for family members of all ages.

German Thriller, Good Acting
Daniel Bruhl gives a solid performance in this German film about 3 young political activists who oppose big business and government greed and corruption. Their covert break-in's of the homes of the uber-wealthy suddenly changes, during a moment of impulsive passion, from malicious hijinks to a much more serious dilemma. No spoilers here, sorry.
Each of the 4 leading characters contributes to the intrigue and the dramatic development of a break-in gone wrong. Based on this film, I'd like to see more of German director Hans Weingartner's work. Excellent soundtrack too. Well worth adding to your collection.
