Onkyo gives a "big bang for the buck".
After looking for a reasonably priced HDMI capable home theater receiver and comparing features, I decided to go with Onkyo. The Onkyo TX series receivers I've found to be feature-packed and have great performance and reliability. One specific feature that sets the TX-SR506 apart from the other brands is how it auto-calibrates based on the speaker's performance and sound dynamics of the room. There's no calculation or guess-work - you just plug in the calibration mic and this unit does three sound samplings from each speaker and auto-calibrates each channel's surround setting for perfect surround sound. Even if you don't have matching speakers the Onkyo can compensate (within reason) for the mismatch. This feature isn't in all Onkyo models so look for the mic port (on the front of the receiver). I've been so impressed with this receiver's surround capability I've bought a second one. The TX-SR506 also supports two zones (one 7.1 surround and one stereo) allowing you to play full surround in one room and a completely different stereo output to another room simultaneously. If you're looking to invest in an amazing surround receiver take a close look at what Onkyo has to offer!
Seagate Momentus 250GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s 16MB Cache 2.5" Laptop Hard Drive

It's a Seagate!
I got this to load Linux OS and it's been great. It's quick even at SATA 2 (My mobo supports SATA2 so this drive is a match). I have this mounted in a desktop system and being able to boot either Windows or Linux is a plus. This makes a great OS drive for Linux.

Quick little Drive!
I've migrated most of my desktop hard drives to 2.5" and got this to run the OS drive of one of my systems. A noticeable improvement over the 3.5" 7200rpm drive that was the OS drive. So far it's been stable and quick.
