Value for money when you are getting started in Full Frame
11 of 11 found this helpful I have known about this lens for many years just never had an application where I could use it. Just purchased a 6D II and only have one FF lens a Canon 70-300mm IS II. Need something else to buy time until I can put some money aside for a wide zoom option. So with limit funds and to fill the void somewhat, I purchased this lens. This is the newest version so it has a better motor but still a bit noisy (maybe not for vlogging}, metal lens mount, smaller filter ring, front element does not rotate (CP filter) which is nice, that's about it. Not a "L" lens but it is nicely made and for the money you get alot. I would like to see Canon come out with a similar 35mm. Hoping the price of the new Tamron 17-35 mm comes down a bit in several months or Canon introduces a entry level FF wide zoom similar in specs of my zoom. Would make for a nice kit. I have Canon APS-C camera that I will use this 50mm on so it serves a dual purpose.
