Art By Recovering Alcoholics/Addicts - ABRAA
My name is Tehane and I am a recovering alcoholic. Four years ago I would not have been able to utter those words - to myself or much less to the world. Fortunately, a series of life-changing events led me to sobriety, a new outlook on life, and my current passions, shopping and art (ok well, shopping has always been a passion, but at least now I can remember what I buy). In a bizarre and completely unpredictable way, my journey through alcoholism has blessed me with strength, courage, compassion and the unwavering will to go on. I used to think that I was crazy, but now luckily I can safely say that I am sane and everyone else is crazy. I want everyone to know that there is always hope, and grace, for everyone. I am the sole member of Art By Recovering Alcoholics/Addicts. I just made it up myself! Apparently I do have some brain cells left. ABRAA.
Business InformationHistory/background
They say that there is a fine line between genius and insanity, and yes, I'm a genius, aren't all alcoholics/addicts? So are I have managed to survive without lopping off any appendages/limbs, much to my family's chagrin (insurance, you know) but I did get a tatoo 6 years ago, when in the dark period. Roses. Thorns. Blood :) But self-destruction is an art as well, and thankfully I have always been the glass half full type. In the first days after rehab (I laugh because they will just give away those AA books, but mine cost $10,000 in rehab!) I could go on and on about how my painting is representative of the relationship between good and evil, God and the Devil, or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, yak, yak, yak. . But that just sounds presumptious and phony. Let's just say that I paint to keep my hands from being idle. I have finally decided to take the leap and offer some of my works on Ebay, they are very special to me because they are a part of my recovery.
