My G3 is 15yrs old and still cleaning.
My current G3 has been cleaning my pool every day for 15 years...and it still is. This purchase of the G3 is for my best friend and his pool. I read through the reviews of the G3 and several of its major competitors. While the G3 doesn't climb my pool steps, and yes it has a couple parts that need replacement when they wear out due to friction, the G3 cleans just fine and appears to need fewer repairs than any other pool cleaner. You'll never need a $200 repair as has been reported for the robotic models. And yes my G3 uses a random pattern for cleaning and has gotten stuck on the bottom drain, but a slight change of the movable weight changes the random patterns and turning the bottom drain down or off puts an end to drain stops. Is the G3 perfect? I guess some people say no. But if all I have to do is make a small adjustment once or twice and it cleans my pool every day for 15 years, I'll give it 5 stars and call it perfect.
My 15yr old G3 is approaching the end of its life, so its on my wish list for now. It will be a sad day when it dies, but opening the box of a brand new G3 will feel like Christmas!
