All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
Flood Of CaRe was founded by current and former residents of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the Midwest city hardest hit by flooding in June, 2008. Its mission is to raise money to assist those unable financially to fully recover from the devastating floods.
Business InformationHistory/background
The Flood Of CaRe initiative was started by a handful of philanthropic-minded Cedar Rapids, Iowa Washington High School Alumni, whose 20-year high school reunion was held shortly after the flooding of their hometown. The classmates used their reunion forum to bring together their resources, contacts, talents, and knowledge in order to raise funds for and give back to their childhood home. They received donations and media coverage in their respective states, and national coverage through TV, radio, and Internet outlets including National ClearChannel coverage, and MySpace. Their goal is to help revitalize the city where they grew up so that in five years (at their 25-year reunion), they can witness a restored, more vibrant Cedar Rapids.
