Viola Solo Music - Passacaglia
I bought two copies of this. I sent one copy to my son who is a Marine and was on a ship at the time. He took his viola with him and asked me to send him some challenging music. Later, I opened my own copy and started to play it. It is a lovely and haunting melody and I will enjoy playing it. However, much of it is written in treble clef. This great for those of us who also play violin as it is easier for me to read the treble clef for the higher notes. However, my son and many other young violists doesn't read treble clef at all. Most of the current method books teach violists to read the alto clef notes high above the staff and never venture into the treble clef. Now, in order for my son to be able to play the music, I will have to transpose the treble clef parts into alto part - a lot of work for me!
