Italian Fantasia!
But definitely not for kids. While the animation isn't the traditional vibrant Disney style, it is very artistic and experimental in style, but incredibly mature in message. I did see this when I was very young and I remembered the music and the art more than the symbolism and message, and upon re-visiting it, I was completely blown away. Plus, the live action B&W scenes are a riot. Give it a shot!

Still the pre-rendered backgrounds like Resident Evil 2, you get to explore even more of Raccoon City, while finding yourself recognizing familiar places, and familiar faces! This one, by far, has the best villain.. Nemesis!
