Philip Gladstone was born in 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Maryland, Maine and Florida with his parents, two siblings and, at one time or another, about a dozen dogs. His father was an Art Director for the Walt Disney Company and encouraged Philip in his early artistic efforts. After several false career starts, Philip Gladstone began his career as an independent fine artist when he sold his first paintings on the online auction website eBay in the summer of 2004. By early 2005 he was able to support himself and his family entirely through the sale of his art. Philip Gladstone is married with three children, and currently lives and works in the northwestern hills of Connecticut, USA.
