Why We Need Retractable Feedback on eBay
The premise for immutable feedback is patently and logically incorrect. It is based on trying to have someone think twice before leaving bad feedback. Impulsive actions occur by definition without thinking twice. EBay cannot legislate a fairer world. That is why feedback is used as a power broker on eBay, causes heartache and fear, and encourages less attempts at reconciling issues because once it is left their is no incentive to follow up and correct the situation and to let cooler heads prevail. Don't we all have enough stress in our lives without eBay raising the stress factor in buying and selling?? Also, you know feedback is given more frivolously on inexpensive items. If someone has a lot of money on the line, they will naturally reach out to correct any issues first. This all underlines my firm view that we need eBay to get off its high horse and allow humans to retract negative feedback. We need accuracy AND fairness, not rules. Help me spread the word please!
