I will soon retire from our public school system. I have worked for 27 years as a Para-educator. I developed Fun Food Lunch Count while working in an elementary school that had just received several ESL students from Bosnia. The teachers found it extremely helpful in their classrooms at the beginning of the day when their students were arriving each morning. The pictures of the lunch choices were beneficial to the children who did not know what our lunch choices looked like and the teacher loved knowing immediately who was present and had made their lunch choice. So it worked as an attendance aid also. The graph shows the students the most popular lunch choice of the month.
