Good story, fun gameplay, and plenty of challenges.
This game is a very worthy addition to the Silent Hill collection. The game features a great storyline that keeps you motivated to see what happens next and determined to see the ending. The game play itself is easy to get the hang of no matter how experienced you are with the genre. There are separate difficulty settings for combat and puzzles. If you want a challenge, you can set both to hard. If you're a total beginner, set them to easy. You can even mix it up and solve tough riddles without the hassle of being killed by monsters or vice versa. The frightening monsters and ambiance keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Replay value for this game is increased by multiple endings that can be achieved. I would recommend this game to people who are fans of the survival horror genre and especially to fans of the Silent Hill series. If you're the sort of person who doesn't like to even think about something scary, you'd best avoid this title.

Excellent story, plenty of scary moments
This game is a real classic. It features a somewhat confusing story line, but that's what makes it so intriguing. You will play through just to find out what is really going on. As you make your way through the town of Silent Hill, it shifts into an alternate reality on many occasions. Various monsters try and make you their next meal as you attempt to solve twisted puzzles so you can ultimately find your missing daughter. The only downfalls this game has are the voice acting can be B grade at times and running down the streets to your next destination seems to be unnecessarily long. Despite these flaws, this game still delivers plenty of fun, surprises, and replay value. This game is a must have for any Silent Hill fan. If you haven't played it and you enjoy survival horror games, get it!

Exciting gameplay
This game has a bit more action than previous Resident Evil games. The Nemesis will frequently take you by surprise when he shows up. The game has a new feature where certain items and enemies are located randomly so it's not so predictable each time you play through the game. This includes where and when the Nemesis shows up as well. Plenty of ammo can found as well as be made by using the unique reloading tool combined with gunpowder you find lying around. Another unique feature involves the game stopping at various points and offering you two choices, giving you only seconds to decide. Even more action is brought to you through the mercenaries mini game that is unlocked when you beat the actual game. This mode can be used to purchase powerful weapons for use in the actual game. In addition to all of this you still have the regular Resident Evil game play from the previous versions. Solve puzzles, fight or run from hordes of zombies, and watch the story of the conspiracy unfold. For those looking for a challenge, get this game and try killing the Nemesis on every encounter on the hardest difficulty, and try the mercenaries with Nicholi. I recommend this game to all survival horror fans and anyone who hasn't had the experience of being constantly chased down by the Nemesis.
