Strongest adaptation of the HP series so far
I believe this is the best movie adaptation of the series so far. While it does leave some things out and alter others, the movie tells a coherent story on it's own without being a slavish copy. The effects and sets are very good, the chemistry between characters is believable, the acting ranges from well done to very well done and the story is entertaining and immersive. It was well worth my time and money.

Another excellent title in the series
Jim Dale does a fantastic job narrating these books. Each character has a particular voice and it never gets confusing as to who is saying what at any given point. He also does an excellent job of matching the overall tone of each book, lightest in the first and becoming more serious as the series progresses. The Order of the Phoenix is fifth in the series and has a darker tone than the previous books but nothing out of keeping with the age of it's protagonist and intended audience (approximately 15 yrs.). The themes of abuse of power in OotP make it the most uncomfortable book in the series for me, personally, to read but there is still no better word to describe it than "fantastic". I highly recommend the entire set, both printed and audiobook versions.

    Excellent movie
If you haven't yet heard, this is a great movie- perhaps the best Pixar/Disney collaboration to date. The beginning of the movie has no speaking, but the animation is so expressive that you don't really notice, and when I watched the film in the theater even the younger children were following the story (none of the dreaded "Mom! Mom! What's happening? Why'd he do that? What's that mean?" etc.). The extras included with the 3 disk version are worth the higher price tag to me (Burn-E alone was worth the extra cost!), but no matter which version- 2 or 3 disks- you settle on this is not a movie that up-conversion is 'fine' with. If you have a blu-ray player, get the blu-ray version; it is graphically clearer, crisper and all around more stunning than watching it in the theaters, and that's saying something!
