Feels good, easy to use, 1 design flaw In my opinion, but easy fix
The controllers buttons feel good and solid, and were easily plug and play into my windows 7 PC. Worked for what I wanted to use them for.
The one thing I did not like was that you can push directly on the center of the D-Pad, and all 4 directions could be pushed at the same time. The original NES controllers rolled on a center pin on the bottom side of the button, so only 1 direction(or 2 for diagonal movement) could be pressed at a time.
Upon disassembling the controllers by removing the 6 phillips screws, and the 1 phillips screw holding in the circuit board together, I discovered that the D-Pad does in fact have a point to roll around on, but the rubber membrane for the D-Pad would make contact before this point did. This resulted in multiple inputs being pressed at the same time.
I noticed there is an exposed pad on the circuit board directly below the D-Pad, and adding a small ball of solder on this pad, completely fixed the simultaneous direction issue. These controllers D-Pads now feel much more similar to the original NES controllers. Not perfect, but definitely acceptable for the price. Easy fix if you have a soldering iron!
