Business InformationHistory/background
I was a sales executive in the automotive supply industry for 13 years. I became disillusioned with the industry and accepted a job as a sales director in another industry. After I had been there a year, the parent company decided there were too many management levels, and the newest level of management was eliminated. Three months pregnant, a stellar work history, and unemployed! I was devastated, but when a door closes, you look for the nearest window (on the bottom floor that is). Through that experience, I found that work is to make a living, not to be your life. I stayed at home with my daughter and son for over a year. During that time I lost my Dad to cancer. He had always been my inspiration in life. No amount of money could replace the time I was able to spend with my family. During that time, ebay helped our family pay some of our bills until I could get back to work. I appreciate all of my customers so very much!!!
Most Exciting Sale
Because my collected treasures had our house bursting at the seams, I set out to reduce my inventory. I started with items that I still had in boxes from our last move. Then I moved to my childhood doll collection. In researching one of my dolls, I found that I had a very rare Blythe in very good condition - similar ones were selling from $500 to $1500 on e-bay! For a week I prepared for my listing reading everything that I could about Blythe, watching auctions to determine the best pricing strategy, and taking interesting photos that would catch the eye of potential buyers. My friends and family checked on the auction multiple times per day. The night that my auction ended, 14 family members came over for dinner, and we watched the end of the auction as if it were the first moon landing. In the end, I got my asking price, and a wonderful lady in Great Britain won Blythe. She is now living in Liverpool, the home of the Beatles, and I could not be happier that she is being enjoyed.
