Waiting For The Lightning Man To Strike
Nowadays you can't expect much when you buy a remix disc,it's pretty much the same redundant beat thrown into the blender and vomited back out ad nauseum.This apparently wasn't the case back in 1990.The remixes here are creative and unpredictable (with the exception of "Getting Closer (Pool Mix)"
It did get a tad boring and was too bare boned for my tastes.
The RSW mix of Lightning Man was your typical RSW sound-electroclash with a killer bassline.You can always rely on Renegade Soundwave for a beat to shake your booty to.
The trance mix of "Getting Closer" was the best mix I've heard in ....well,EVER.It wasn't really all that trancelike either.When I hear that word I usually think it's something that's gonna put me to sleep.That wasn't the case here.
This collection is rare.I got lucky and won it for practically nothing.It's 7 tracks and 6 of them are KILLER! Any fan of electronic music would agree.If you like Nitzer Ebb in general you definitely wouldn't be disappointed.This disc ROCKS!

Drawn Together...and then ERASED!
1 of 1 found this helpful I am a huge kid at heart.I love cartoons and the more bizarre and random-the better.Drawn together was just that.It was TV's first animated reality show and featured a wacky and varied cast of characters.There's princess Clara the Disney-esque racist,homophobic cast member that dabbles in lesbianism.Xandir is a video game character that soon realizes that his neverending quest to save his girlfriend is fruitless and discovers his queer sexuality early on.Captain Hero is a reminiscent of the animated Batman or Superman TV series.He's also a big mess with multiple personalities.Toot is the black and white "sex" goddess from the 20's.Not only is she one of the more disgusting cast members but also one of the funniest.Ling-Ling is the token oriental "pokemon-like" member who often ends up getting the bad end of the deal in most of the situations they find themselves in.Foxxy Love is the only black cast member who seems like she should have been in Scooby Doo or Josie & the Pussycats.She's the musician in the group (and I use that term loosely).Her song entitled "la la la la labia" is both hilarious and graphic,she too dabbles in bisexuality.Spankie Ham is the crass internet download.He is my least favorite and most disgusting character in the series.Last but certainly not least is Wooldoor Sockbat (the wacky whatchamacallit).Nobody's quite sure of what he is,suffice to say he's the wackiest of the bunch and has a doorknob that opens his ass which hides a plethora of useful objects.
Drawn Together really pushed the boundaries and NOBODY was safe...blacks,jews,gays but that's what I loved about it.They make fun of EVERYONE.Maybe the jokes weren't always in the best taste and sometimes the bathroom humor went too far but all in all I found myself hooked from the beginning.So if you're a fan of any of the above and most of all-cartoon nudity,I highly recommend Drawn Together.
My only qualm was how they chose to end it all in this season-by handing each character their pink slips thus ending the show.That part really aggravated me and almost pushes me to the point of wanting to write to Comedy Central and ask what the hell happened.I guess I'll just remember the good times and watch them over and over again-all the while secretly hoping that that particular ending was just a hoax.
