Greetings from Florida, land of sunshine and fun! This is my story about me, Ima Bookee, alias Nora Moore. Of course, it is difficult to put “all about me” on one page, but I’ve given it my best shot. “I Love Books Too!” just about says it all.

I am especially fond of biographies, first editions, history, even historical novels. I also seem to collect coffee table books, antiquarians that no one has ever heard of, books about photography and travel. I love the new books too, especially political satires and great everyday, down-home humor.

Oh, yes! Cookbooks! How I love cookbooks, decorating books, books about gardening and do-it-yourself projects that I will never get around to. I seem to have collected a few dozen mini-books about angels and some heart-warming stories too. Anyway, you can see that over the years these treasures can accumulate and become a real housekeeping problem. One day my darling husband, who never criticizes my passion for books, (possibly because he collects books on sports : golf, baseball, basket ball, bowling, the military and wars and, of course, anything political or social) suggested that I open a used book store which would allow me to really invest in my love of books; share my books with people who understand why “one can never have enough books”; and make a little money along the way to supplement our rapidly diminishing retirement funds. I read and I read and I read. I love to square dance and round dance and dance and dance. Retirement is great! I can read all I want, then go dancing, then come home and read some more.

I'm very eclectic in my reading. Some times I will read biographies exclusively for weeks feeling like to real thing is better than fiction. Then I'll change to Historic Romance novels for a while. I love Gabaldon and her heroic women. Auel is an all-time favorite. I read lots of history books and I love to peruse coffee-table books with lots of beautiful photography and art. Larry McMurtry is a favorite when I want to loose myself in a good real-life story. Although I don't cook much, I love cookbooks. They are a wonderful way to learn about cultures. I guess I just love books.

Of course, I love the old stuff from the 1930s - 1960s. I love real dance music which means swing, jazz, all the good ol' stuff.

I've retired three times from Customer Service positions. I will use every thing I learned over the past 30 years to keep my customers happy...
