Toshiba PA3096U-2BRS Slim Select Bay 2nd Battery Pack
May 30, 2017
An easy way to add a 2nd battery to your laptop
This part no. (PA3096U-3BRS), along with PA3129U-3BRS, are Toshiba Slim SelectBay 2nd battery packs that replace the Slim SelectBay CD/DVD modules - giving your Toshiba laptop an extended cruising range. Insofar as I know, the ones that are available for sale are all factory original batteries (not clones or knockoff's that last no more than 6 months) and if you buy only new items in factory sealed boxes, very little can go wrong. Go for it!
R2-405 Micro-Flex Corded Rotary Shaver New In Box 100% Authentic

A great, durable corded shaver
The Remington R2 is well-designed, easy to clean/maintain, and incredibly durable. I use this to shave my head every other day - and my previous Remington R2 lasted over 3 years without the slightest hint of any problems. I'm very impressed with this product.

Write up: Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 Laptop
The one I bought in this auction is a European model, which is identical to US and Canadian models. I've worked on US, Canadian, Australian, Japanese, German, French, and Spanish models. This review should be applicable to all Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 series laptops. Here are its general specs: CPU: Mobile Pentium III, 750mhz to 1Ghz. Memory: two sockets, uses either PC100/133, 144-pin SO DIMM’s, 512mb max. Screen sizes: two sizes – 14” and 15” XGA. Optical drives: internal - DVD or DVD with CD-RW. Hard drives: 20gb and up, uses standard 2.5” ATA IDE drives. Keyboard with Accupoint mouse. Modem and Ethernet built in. Pre-wired with WiFi antennas and will take a mini-PCI wireless card. USB ports: 2, conveniently located. PC card slots: 2, left side. Battery: uses Toshiba’s venerable PA2487U LiON batteries. AC adapter: 15V, 3 or 4 or 5A. Weight: 7lbs max (15” models). Having owned one and serviced over a thousand of these 4600's, I've come to known these guys like the back of my hands, or better than the back of my hands. So here's my brief take: The positives: a superbly constructed chassis (case) to keep the electronics safe, very easy to service, has everything built-in and sounds good. The great chassis and ease of service alone is worth the price of admission. The negatives: not sleek and sexy looking like many others; has built in floppy drive - a virtual door stop; usb 1.0 ports. Potential problem areas: (1) By far, the most common problem with this series is with the memory sockets – they come loose (it’s an obscenely easy fix but you’ll have to get it to someone who’s technically great, like yours truly). (2) A few hinge-related problems (the plastics are darn good, but a few of the metal hinges will get tighter and tighter over time and when you pit metal against plastics, metal always wins!) Solution? Before the hinges get too tight (you’ll feel it!), disassemble the whole nine yards, remove the hinges, and apply WD40 to the pivoting mechanisms, then wipe ‘em dry, and put ‘em back in. Consider it an oil change – and once should be all it’ll ever need. Concluson: Marvelous. Well designed. Well built. Totally predictable and dependable and is about as good as it gets. Buying tips: If you're reading this writeup, then you've done your homework. When buying a used copy of this model laptop, be sure to ask the potential seller that the laptop being sold comes with both memory sockets populated (used) and fully functional. Don't get caught with a bad memory socket and end up with a computer that can't be upgraded later on! I've seen people sell these laptops with much smaller than the original, stock sized hard drives. Fuggedaboutit! Bear in mind that to run Windows XP, you'll need at least 256MB memory and you'll want at least a 20gb hard drive - anything less on either end, and you're just ... asking for it. A fully updated Windows XP alone will eat up over 6GB of hard drive space, and anything with less than 256MB of memory will just be painfully slow when you're surfing the web - I call it "good for loading the Google page." So do keep that in mind, as it'll surely enhance your experience and satisfaction as time goes on. That's it. Good luck with your shopping, and ... feel free to email me if you have any questions or comments!
